The setback weighed heavily on Miriam's heart. Caleb's relapse had shaken her fragile hope, but she refused to surrender. She knew she could not carry this burden alone.
That morning, she sat with Samuel at the table. "I think we must speak with Mr. Dlamini again," she said softly. "Caleb cannot walk this road without guidance. And I cannot hold this family together without help."
Samuel nodded, his jaw tight but his eyes steady. "I'll go with him, Ma. He listens to me more than he admits. Maybe if I stand beside him, he'll take it seriously."
Miriam's tears welled, but her voice was firm. "You are his brother, Samuel. Your strength may be the bridge he needs. But remember---he must choose healing for himself. You can guide, but you cannot carry him."
Later that day, Miriam spoke to Caleb. "I have asked Mr. Dlamini to meet with you again. Samuel will go with you. This is not punishment, Caleb---it is a chance. A chance to rise after the fall."
Caleb's eyes flickered with shame and resistance. "I don't want to sit there and be judged."
Samuel stepped forward, his voice calm but firm. "It's not judgment, Caleb. It's help. And you need it. We all need you to try again."
Silence filled the room. Caleb's fists clenched, his jaw tight. Finally, he muttered, "Fine. I'll go. But only because you're coming, Samuel."
Miriam's heart swelled with cautious hope. She whispered a prayer under her breath: *"Lord, let this be the turning point. Give Samuel strength to guide his brother, and give Caleb courage to walk the path of healing once more."*
